“Citizen’s Liberty Coalition”
Danny Holloman – 09441-021

I’m responding to a letter that I read concerning the foodstrike lockdown at Yazoo F.C.I prison. I strongly feel I was mistreated by being transfered to another prison with no understanding or knowledge of the situation. I’ve been at Yazoo, City FCI over 4 year’s and in the system almost seven, with no write up’s period. I’ve been trying to conduct myself like a model inmate. I’ve gotten outstanding award’s from my job “Unicor.” I have been responsible for thousand of dollar’s of material and making sure that military vest was made correct and safe.

On April 9, 2004, I left Unicor at 10:15 or maybe 10:20 when re-call was called. That’s when all inmate’s go to the unit to prepare for lunch. After re-call which last about 10min. Unicor will eat first after this. Well as you can see I went to the unit at re-call which mean I wasn’t in Unicor when they let out to eat I was in the unit trying to get a Form 24. That’s a form you use when sending money out to family member’s or what ever the issue may be. My reason for leaving early is because, it’s so hard to catch the cancelor sometime. When you work in Unicor, because I’m at work 7:30 AM until 8:30 PM. most of the time because of the position I held on my job, so you try to catch the people you need to see when you can, and I guess you know he wasn’t in. The only person in was Mr. Ditto the case mang. which happen to be watching both unit’s A & B. He told me he was by himself and didn’t have time at the moment to get the form, so all I could do was wait to go back work after lunch. But before anyone could get back to work the whole compound was locked down. I went to the T.V. room and asked what’s happen, the guys said no one from Unicor is going to eat, their all coming to the unit, so I said dam.

Now about 7 or 8 hour’s later they come and get me from the unit, and take me to the Lt. Office. I was question by L.T. Edward’s about what I know about the foodstrike and who was behind it, I told him I didn’t know, and wasn’t even in Unicor when they started feeding. Then I asked him why was I pulled about this, he told me that I’d been there awhile and some people think you might know something or heard something. After that he told me he was locking me up in the SHU (special housing unit) pending investigation of a food strike, 5 or 6 day’s later I’m moved to Talladega, Al. locked down 22 or 23 hour’s out the day, can only use the phone on the weekend, don’t leave the cell at all Saturday, and Sunday didn’t use the phone for 2 ½ to 3 week’s.

As of this moment I’ve not been charged with anything, I’m just sitting here waiting to hear from Yazoo, City to see what kind of lie they are going to try and use to justify this foolishness. My BOP record speak’s for it’s self I don’t follow foolishness, maybe the food was bad, all a person had to do wa’s not eat it go to the unit and eat like over half been doing anyway, not going to eat at Yazoo was not nothing new, the only reason they done this is because they got word that it’s going to happen, and they just wanted to so people their power all they had to do was let everthing go as normal call work call and everyone would have went back to work and it would have been just another day that people didn’t eat.

I hope this information helps you, because we really need some one to speak for us. I understand they are trying to stop us for ever working in BOP Unicor anymore. I think that wrong when we didn’t do anything, working helps a lot of men in the BOP because the have such long sentene’s until family sometime can’t send money, so we work to take care of ourself and maybe send kid’s a little something now and then. That job helped my 14 year old son alot. They really didn’t think this time. Thank you for listen.

Thank You

P.S. I have one question
how can you lock me up for a
foodstrike, when I didn’t even get
a chance to make the choice if
I was going or not.
