Age approximately 40, released at Yazoo Prison. Current address confidential. Declaration and medical records at present confidential. Prisoner Linder received sustained torture, neglect and incompetence at the hands of BOP medical at Yazoo prison.
Approximately June of 2002 prisoner Linder was advised by BOP medical at Yazoo and an outside surgeon Dr. John Mazzio that he had some sort of tumor on his back that needed to be removed. No biopsy was taken. A visual inspection is all that Mr. Linder received from Dr. Mazzio and BOP Clinical Director alleged Dr. Chambers.
The BOP subcontracts licensed medical doctors from surrounding prison communities to make use of, when serious medical problems arise with prisoners. This due to the fact that vast majority of the people they employ titled as medical doctors would qualify in the public community as paramedics for fire rescue emergency teams. The medical treatment of BOP prisoners is discussed in detail, as is the required laws on this website under Bureau of Prisons (BOP) located at the top of this page - then click on Medical Treatment Of Prisoners.
The BOP titles the outside contracted medical doctors as specialists as public propaganda when in fact many are nothing more than any normal medical doctor not specializing in the medical problem the prisoner has.
Dr. Mazzio practicing medicine in Vicksburg, Mississippi, if he is a licensed and board certified surgeon by Mississippi; would qualify as a bottom of the barrel surgeon as this accounting and other accountings on this link reveal.
From June 2002 until March 2003 Linder approached alleged Dr. Chambers, a non-state licensed doctor employed by the BOP at Yazoo medical, about removing his tumor, and addressing the serious pain Linder was in, at least 20 times, to no avail.
Alleged Dr. Chambers and Health Services Administrator (HSA) Barbara Sullivan had Dr. Mazzio come to Yazoo prison to examine Linder in March of 2003.
In front of Linder; Dr. Mazzio advised both Dr. Chambers and HSA Sullivan that the tumor had grown rapidly and needed to be removed immediately. To this point the BOP refused to allow even a biopsy.
Dr. Mazzio operated to remove the tumor on March 20, 2003. After the operation Linder developed complications and underwent a second surgery the very next day. Linder was advised that the BOP had let him degenerate allowing the tumor to grow to a size of 14" X 12" X 3" thick before it was removed.
Prisoner Linder spent 15 days in the hospital for his first 2 operations.
The BOP further punished both Linder and his family by not allowing prisoner Linder, who was scheduled to be released shortly, any visitation, no telephone calls, no letter writing; absolutely no contact with his family. When his family called Yazoo Prison because they had not heard from Mr. Linder; Yazoo Prison would not provide any information as to why prisoner Linder had not contacted them. No BOP unit staff visited Linder, as he was foot chained and handcuffed with 2 BOP armed guards 24 hours a day; the 15 days he was in the hospital. This same procedure by the BOP happened each subsequent time Linder went to the hospital.
Shortly after Linder's release from the hospital on 4/24/03 Dr. Mazzio came to Yazoo Prison and removed Linder's drain for excess funds. Dr. Mazzio left orders with Dr. Chambers if there was any more fluid buildup to take Linder to Dr. Mazzio office immediately.
On 4/29/03 Linder and other prisoners noticed a fluid buildup in Linder's back. Linder went to Yazoo medical and Linder heard the nurse advise Dr. Chambers that he had between a 300 and 500 cc fluid buildup. Linder was then sent back to his housing unit.
By May 1, 03 having heard nothing from Clinical Director, Dr. Chambers, or Yazoo medical, Linder contacted the Health Services Administrator (HSA), Ms. Barbara Sullivan and advised Ms. Sullivan of what had transpired and what Dr. Mazzio had told Dr. Chambers. HSA Sullivan told Linder she would look into the matter. The fluid buildup was very visible and Linder had a serious burning sensation in this back.
Linder was in torturous pain until May 14, 2000 when he was taken out to see Dr. Mazzio and received a third operation, and again installed a drain.
Linder was advised by another physician that Dr. Mazzio during the first operation should have installed a vacuum drain for such a large cavity. Dr. Mazzio did not, nor did Dr. Mazzio install a vacuum drain after the third operation.
When Linder was returned to Yazoo Prison after his 3 rd operation. Linder asked Dr. Chambers at Yazoo medical about receiving an antibiotic for a few days to prevent an infection seeing he had so many problems constituting 3 operations. Dr. Chambers refused.
Starting on May 16, 2003 Linder again began receiving a burning pain around the area of his operation. Linder immediately went and advised Dr. Chambers who did nothing. From May 16, 03 to May 28, 03 Dr. Chambers left Linder to endure the constant burning pain even though Linder went to Dr. Chambers complaining everyday. Chambers would do nothing.
On May 28, 03, Dr. Chambers finally took a culture and gave Linder Aprofloxacin which did nothing at all. The intolerable pain continued.
On June 2, 03 Linder was advised he had a staphinfection and was placed on Amoxicillin for 10 days.
From May 14, 03 when Dr. Mazzio performed his 3 rd operation and installed another drain, without a vacuum, Linder noted he had been draining over 50cc of fluid daily sometimes double that amount. Linder's blood pressure had been increasing.
Starting approximately June 12, 2003 Linder's blood pressure had risen to 150 over 98.
Due to the fact Linder could not receive professional treatment from the BOP to save his life; Linder filed for legal help through the BOP, essentially notifyingeveryone throughout the BOP what was happening to him. The BOP responded by doing nothing putting Linder in the hole, which is totally illegal and inhumane; however the BOP retaliated almost immediately which is standard operating procedure within the BOP regarding prisoners they don't like.
Once out of the hole, Linder went to counselor Cortes who tried in vain to get Linder medical help.
Eventually through the efforts of Counselor Cortes and members of Linder's unit team on June 18, 03, Linder was again taken out to Dr. Mazzio's office.
Dr. Mazzio advised Linder he had yet another urgent medical situation, as did HSA Ms. Sullivan, however Linder was brought back to Yazoo Prison to await his 4 th and urgent operation. During this waiting period Yazoo medical at times refused to clean and change bandages around the area the drain protruded from Linder's body; even when the bandages had fallen off. Yazoo medical did not offer bandages to Linder so he could clean and replace the bandages himself.
Prisoner Linder was again operated upon by Dr. Mazzio for the 4 th time and again the fluid buildupstarted all over again.
Just before Prisoner Linder was released from prison as he had served all his prison time, Dr. Mazzio told Mr. Linder in the fall of 2003 "You better see a specialist as soon as you are released."
This actual accounting of Bruce Linder was acquired from documents, declarations and 1 st hand contact with Mr. Linder. The documents, and declarations are held by Kimball's associates.
This example of prisoner Bruce Linder is typical of thousands
of BOP prisoners which are "selectively" picked to receive
retaliation, torture and many time death at the hands of
corrupt BOP employees. A few of the others are
depicted on this link.
